Penne chicken and mushroom pastaThis simple and delicious pasta preparation can be prepared in a quick time without any complex steps. I often make this delicious recipe on the weekends. Penne is a preffered pasta for this one though you can also replace it with your favorite. Similarly, the variety of mushroom can also be experimented with. One can also adjust the flavoring as per their preferences. I prefer to coarsely chop or grind the chicken breast keeping the mushroom in sliced form. If you prefer, you can keep bigger chunks of boneless chicken. A drier or a creamier version of this pasta can also be cooked by adjusting the amount of cream and cheese. So, without wasting more time, let's quickly make this delicious pasta.

Chicken and mushroom pasta

Savor this cheesy and delicious pasta preparation which is enriched with boneless chicken, mushrooms and loads of flavoring ingredients cooked to perfection.

Servings: 4

  • 300 gm Penne pasta
  • 200 gm chicken breast (coarsely chopped)
  • 300 gm white mushrooms (sliced)
  • 4 tsp heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup white wine
  • 25 gm Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves (finely minced)
  • 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • chopped basil sprigs (for garnish)
  • fresh ground pepper (as per taste)
  • salt to taste


  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for about 6 to 8 minutes.
  2. Drain all the water and keep the pasta aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large nonstick pan.
  4. Add ground chicken meat and season with ground pepper and salt.
  5. Stir fry for about 5 to 6 minutes.
  6. Take out the chicken from the pan and keep aside.
  7. Add minced garlic and switch the flame to medium.
  8. Stir fry for about a minute and add sliced mushrooms.
  9. Toss for half a minute and add the stir fried chicken back into the pan.
  10. Pour white wine in the pan with a pinch of salt.
  11. Cook while stirring gently till the wine is reduced completely.
  12. Add boiled Penne with heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
  13. Toss and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  14. Sprinkle bit more ground pepper and garnish with chopped basil sprigs.
  15. Serve hot with your favorite beverage.
