Hot and Spicy Chili Chicken Wings

There are several variants of chili chicken wings which include some mild versions too. I've used both cracked black pepper and cayenne to add zing to this fiery preparation though you're free to moderate the amount of spice. Make extra servings of this recipe as it's going to vanish in no time. You can use the same ingredients for chicken breasts too. These chicken wings go well both with bread and rice. Savor these delicious and juicy chicken wings which are fired up with hot spices and seasoning ingredients for an irresistible flavor you can’t resist at all.

Servings: 4

  • 20 large chicken wings (cleaned & patted dry)
  • 100 gm hot chili sauce
  • 1 tsp hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil
  • 3/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 2 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • kosher salt to taste


  1. In a large bowl mix chili sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, cayenne pepper, cracked black pepper, ginger paste, dark soy sauce, garlic powder and kosher salt.
  2. Whip briskly for about 3 to 4 minutes to make sure everything is blended well.
  3. Add chicken wings in the bowl and gently apply the spicy marinade on all the wings.
  4. Keep aside for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. Heat a large nonstick skillet on a medium flame and grease it well with the olive oil.
  6. Gently place all the chicken wings on its surface tightly packed close to each other.
  7. Pour the remaining marinade (if any) in the bowl over the wings.
  8. Cook from both the sides for about 10 to 12 minutes each turning both the sides at short intervals.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite beverage.
