Spicy garlic prawns

Try these delicately seasoned steamed prawns which are flavored with fresh garlic which gives it a unique and aromatic taste to fulfill your hungry tummy.

Cooking time: 5 minutes
Servings: 4

  • 400 gm prawns (cleaned & butterflied)
  • 150 gm unsalted butter
  • 15 garlic cloves (finely minced)
  • white pepper powder to taste
  • 3 to 4 tsp lime juice
  • cilantro sprigs (for garnish)
  • salt to taste


  1. Heat unsalted butter in a nonstick pan until it starts bubbling.
  2. Add minced garlic with white pepper powder, lime juice and salt.
  3. After 15 seconds switch off the flame and let the garlicky butter settle down.
  4. Arrange prawns in a steaming container and pour spoonful of garlicky and seasoned butter on each prawn.
  5. Steam for about 4 to 6 minutes.
  6. Garnish with cilantro springs and serve hot.
