Do not hesitate in using the local seafood available in your locality. Similarly, giving preference to your favorite pasta variant can add more kick in the preparation. You must prepare and serve it fresh as the refrigerated version turns mushy. Instead of pasta, one can also use regular wheat noodles. Baked version of this recipe can also be made with generous amount of cheese. Addition of local dried herbs and a spoonful of fresh lime juice can enhance the flavor of this scrumptious recipe. So, prepare your wok and cook some delicious seafood for the weekend poolside party.

Seafood Pasta with Calamari and Shrimps

Delicious pasta with seafood

Do make this delicious and fulfilling pasta preparation which also includes loads of calamari rings and fresh shrimps seasoned with fresh spices and herbs.

Servings: 4

  • 250 gm Fusilli or Macaroni pasta
  • 300 gm white shrimps (deveined)
  • 250 gm calamari rings
  • 2 green chilies (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium sized white onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (finely minced)
  • 1 tsp dried herbs
  • pinch of paprika
  • 1/2 tsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • 50 gm tomato puree
  • pinch of white pepper powder
  • few drops of sesame oil
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • lettuce (for garnishing)
  • 3 tsp peanut oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Add 1 tsp peanut oil and a pinch of salt in about a liter of water and bring it to a boil.
  2. Switch the flame to medium and add pasta in it.
  3. Gently stir with a spatula for about 4 minutes.
  4. Drain all the water and keep the pasta aside.
  5. Heat 2 tsp peanut oil in a large wok on a medium flame.
  6. Add chopped onion and minced garlic.
  7. Saute for a minute and add chopped green chilies.
  8. Toss and saute for half a minute.
  9. Add calamari rings with shrimps.
  10. Switch the flame to high and saute for about a minute.
  11. Add tomato puree and season with dried herbs, paprika, fish sauce, light soy sauce, white pepper powder, sesame oil and salt.
  12. Toss and stir fry for about 2 minutes on a high flame.
  13. Add boiled pasta and stir fry for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  14. Add lime juice and once toss again before switching off the flame.
  15. Garnish with lettuce leaves and serve hot.
