Today, we're going to coat them with flavorful buttermilk-based batter which gives a crunchy and delicious crust to the wings. The preparation is served with cheesy boiled potato salad complementing the spicy chicken wings. To get the best results, keep the wings in the batter overnight. If you do not prefer deep frying these wings, roast or grill on a charcoal fire. Do not hesitate in squeezing a generous amount of fresh lime juice on top of the hot wings right before serving. Chicken wings can be substituted with chicken legs too. You can serve it with a bowl of spicy and tangy sauce. Let's quickly make these tastily fried chicken wings.

Enjoy these spicy and tangy deep fried chicken wings preparation which are served with cheesy potato salad to fulfill your hungry tummy anytime of the day.

Cooking time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4

  • 10 to 12 chicken wings (nice & big)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tsp semolina
  • 1/2 tsp corn flour
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/5 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp light soy sauce
  • 350 gm potatoes (boiled & diced)
  • 100 gm soft white cheese (mashed)
  • pinch of white pepper powder (optional)
  • 25 gm green onion leaves (chopped)
  • lime wedges (for garnish)
  • vegetable oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste


  1. Take a bowl and add buttermilk in it with semolina, corn flour, onion powder, ginger paste, paprika, light soy sauce and salt.
  2. Whip all the ingredients for a minute or two.
  3. Add all the chicken wings in it and apply the marinade well with your fingers. Keep aside for about 15 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile add boiled and diced potatoes in a salad bowl.
  5. Add mashed soft white cheese in it and gently mix with a spatula.
  6. Sprinkle white pepper powder on top and add chopped green onion leaves as well.
  7. Gently toss for half a minute and keep aside.
  8. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan on a medium flame.
  9. Deep fry all the batter coated chicken wings till light golden brown.
  10. Place on a paper towel to remove excess oil, if any
  11. Garnish fried wings with lime and serve with cheesy potato salad.
