All the magic happens by the yummy and unique combination of herbs and spices mixed in cheese which is baked to perfection. Use porous, fresh and thick bread base to make the stuffing boat. You can free to innovate and use your favorite cheese variant. You can also include some finely minced vegetables in the stuffing to elevate the nutritional value. It's a perfect cheesy snack for the tea time though we love to bite at any time of the day. I've used a generous amount of chilies in this one so take care while adding them in your version. Cheesy bread with herbs and pepper

Enjoy this cheesy bread preparation which is topped with cheese, herbs and loads of paprika for a divine flavor you can relish anytime with tea or coffee.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Servings: 6

  • 1 loaf French bread (cut in 2" slices)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (grated)
  • 10 to 15 garlic cloves (roasted and crushed)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves (finely minced)
  • small bunch of dried thyme (coarsely crushed)
  • 1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • pinch of salt


  1. Sprinkle lime juice and olive oil on one side of bread slices and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  2. Make a layer of grated cheese on that side.
  3. Sprinkle roasted and crushed garlic above it.
  4. Sprinkle paprika, rosemary, basil, thyme, black pepper and a pinch of salt above it.
  5. Repeat this process for each slice.
  6. Grease a baking tray with olive oil.
  7. Carefully arrange all the pieces in the tray.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven for about 10 minutes on 200 degrees.
  9. You can sprinkle added spices on top once the bread is out from the oven.
  10. Serve hot with tea or coffee.
