Delicious Egg Custard TartsMy husband loves these tarts! They're easy-to-make and can be quickly prepared with few ingredients. You can innovate and can make some changes in this recipe to make a different variant of these tarts. Use organic and fresh eggs to get the best results. If you're a vegetarian, replace eggs with whipped hung curd. I've tried to give them a shape of boiled eggs cut in halves. You're free to shape them in your preferred way. You can easily refrigerate these tarts for up to a day or two. If you do not have an oven in your kitchen, you can easily bake them in your pressure cooker too in a steaming container. So, here we go to make these delicious, sweet and irresistible egg tarts in a few easy steps.

Creamy and delicious egg custard tarts

Relish this creamy and delicious egg tart recipe which includes fresh and delicious ingredients baked to perfection for an irresistible texture and flavor.

Cooking time: 20 minutes
Servings: 8

  • 3 cups all purpose wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 6 to 8 egg yolks
  • 3 to 4 cups whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • pinch of edible yellow color
  • 2 tsp rose water
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • pinch of salt


  1. Add baking powder, baking soda, sugar, pinch of salt and olive oil in wheat flour and sift well.
  2. Slowly add lukewarm water and knead into soft tart dough. Keep aside for half an hour in a cool and dark place.
  3. Take a bowl and add whipped cream in it.
  4. Whip all the egg yolks for 3 to 4 minutes and slowly start pouring in the cream base.
  5. Keep whipping the cream base as you pour egg yolks.
  6. Continue until the base becomes fluffy and voluminous.
  7. Add powdered sugar, cinnamon powder, edible yellow color and rose water.
  8. Whip again until all the ingredients are mixed well.
  9. Roll the tart dough into small tart base matching with the size of your tart baking cups.
  10. Grease all the tart cups with olive oil and set the dough base rolls within them firmly.
  11. Fill egg custard in them till half the measurement.
  12. Bake in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes at 200 degrees.
  13. Let them cool down to room temperature.
  14. Serve with fresh diced fruits.
