Beef mince stuffed rice rolls

Relish these delicious sticky rice rolls which are stuffed with spicy and lip-smacking beef mince which is seasoned with hot and flavorful spices and herbs.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 50 minutes
Servings: 6

  • 1 sticky rice packet (soaked overnight)
  • 500 gm beef (coarsely minced)
  • 2 tsp Thai chili sauce
  • 2 white onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • 1 green chili (finely minced)
  • 1/2 tsp lime juice
  • 3 to 4 tsp peanut oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Place soaked sticky rice in a banana leaf and steam for about 20 to 25 minutes.
  2. Pressure cook minced beef in a pressure cooker with a liter of water for about 15 minutes.
  3. Drain all the water and keep the beef aside.
  4. Heat peanut oil in a wok on a medium flame.
  5. Add ginger and garlic paste in it and saute for about a minute.
  6. Add minced green chili and with onion and toss for half a minute.
  7. Add boiled minced beef and season with Thai chili sauce, ground pepper, soy sauce, lime juice and salt.
  8. Saute for about 10 minutes and let it cool down.
  9. Take a plastic sheet and grease it a bit with peanut oil
  10. Make small layers of sticky rice about half inch thick.
  11. Place generous amount of cooked minced beef in between.
  12. Roll the plastic sheet to make the rice roll sealing the beef inside it.
  13. Repeat this process for all other rolls.
  14. Serve hot with mint or coriander dip.
