Tangy crab with green papaya

Try this unique and tasty recipe which includes flavored crab meat cooked with tangy green papaya and long beans making it a nutritious and fulfilling serving.

Servings: 4

  • 500 gm crab (chopped)
  • 1 cup green papaya (grated)
  • 1/2 cup long beans (slit into halves)
  • 1 whole dried red chili (crushed)
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 100 gm tomato (chopped)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp fish sauce
  • 3 tsp refined oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Heat oil in a wok on a medium heat.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for about a minute.
  3. Add chopped onions and stir till they turn light pink.
  4. Add long beans and tomatoes and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Add crab with lime juice, honey and crushed red chilli.
  6. Saute for about a minute and add soy sauce, fish sauce and salt.
  7. Again gently saute for about 2 minutes.
  8. Finally add grated green papaya and gently toss for about half a minute.
  9. Lower the flame and saute for about 5 to 6 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with spicy gravy or sauce.
