That's what we're going to make with all the ingredients mentioned below. To make things simple, I've taken readily-made lamb sausages. To get the well-deserved applause, pastry roll should be light and crisp with a buttery flavor. One can also use chicken or beef sausages provided they're enough spicy to complement the outer puffy pastry. Vegetarians can either use boiled potato patties or can stuff stir fried mix vegetables to make an equally delicious version. You can keep these fluffy rolls for up to 2 days. The chili sauce mentioned below can be substituted with your local variant.

Fluffy and crunchy lamb sausage pastry

Do make this spicy and flavorful lamb sausage pastry recipe which is served with equally delicious sweet and sour sauce to make it a complete serving.

  • 6 to 8 spicy lamb sausages
  • 3 cups all purpose wheat flour
  • pinch of baking powder
  • 50 gm unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 3 tsp chili sauce
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • few drops of lime juice
  • few drops of balsamic vinegar
  • 3 to 4 tsp olive oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Slit all the lamb sausages from between.
  2. Heat a grill pan and sprinkle olive oil on it.
  3. Switch the flame to low and quickly grill all the sausages for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Take a flat plate and sift wheat flour in it with baking powder, pinch of salt and melted unsalted butter.
  5. Knead into soft dough with normal water.
  6. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
  7. Take a non stick frying pan add 1/4 cup water in it.
  8. Bring it to a boil and lower the flame.
  9. Add chili sauce, brown sugar, lime juice and balsamic vinegar in it.
  10. Gently keep stirring till the sauce reaches think consistency.
  11. Divide the dough into 8 to 10 small parts.
  12. Flatten each one of them into a thin layer.
  13. Take 2 layers at all time and place lightly sautéed lamb sausage in between.
  14. Roll the dough patty and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.
  15. Gently pat with hands to let the seeds stick on the outer layer of the patty.
  16. Grease a baking tray with olive oil and gently place all the rolls in it.
  17. Bake in a preheated oven at 250 degrees for about 8 minutes.
  18. Serve hot with sweet and sour chili sauce.
