Spicy lamb skewers with onion juice

Make this spicy and lip-smacking lamb skewer preparation which is flavored with red onion juice and herbs to get a sharp and extremely delicious taste.

  • 800 gm boneless lamb meat (2" pieces)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (roasted)
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/4 cup red onion juice
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (coarsely ground)
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds paste
  • 1/5 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Wash lamb pieces thoroughly under running water and keep aside.
  2. Optionally, you can pierce lamb pieces with a fork.
  3. Take a bowl and pour olive oil in it.
  4. Grind roasted cumin seeds and fennel seeds in a blender.
  5. Add cumin seeds powder, fennel seeds powder, onion juice, black pepper, chili flakes, lime juice, ginger paste, poppy seeds paste and salt in the olive oil bowl.
  6. Whip it briskly for about 2 to 3 minutes to mix all the ingredients.
  7. Take a large bowl and add pierced lamb pieces in it.
  8. Pour the spicy, aromatic and tangy marinade on the lamb pieces.
  9. Mix it well with the lamb pieces through a spatula.
  10. Prepare a charcoal grill with maximum heat.
  11. Pierce all the lamb chunks in the skewers.
  12. Grill them evenly from all the sides for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  13. Serve hot with salad and tangy sauce.
