
Sizzling Tofu with Sichuan Peppers and Boiled Rice

Enjoy this simple yet scrumptious tofu preparation which includes sharp and hot spices for a sparkling flavor which can be relished with hot boiled rice.

Ingredients:
- 500 gm tofu (sliced)
- 25 gm Szechuan peppercorns (powdered)
- 1 tsp red chili paste
- 50 gm onion paste
- 3 to 4 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 2 tsp dark soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp oyster sauce
- 1/4 cup spring onions (chopped)
- 1/4 tsp malt vinegar
- 5 tsp olive oil
- salt to taste
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a wok.
- Add chopped garlic and stir fry for 2 minutes on a medium flame.
- Add onion paste and saute till it turns light brown.
- Add tofu slices and toss well for half a minute.
- Season with Szechuan pepper powder, chili paste, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, malt vinegar and salt.
- Stir fry on a medium flame for about 5 minutes.
- Add chopped spring onions and toss well.
- Switch the flame to low and simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Switch off the flame and sprinkle pinch of pepper powder on top.
- Serve hot with steaming boiled rice.
