Light and crunchy mushroom tarts

Make this light and fluffy tart preparation stuffed with seasoned mushrooms it a wholesome, delicious and nutritious serving for your breakfast table.

Cooking time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6

  • 3 cups all purpose wheat flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/5 tsp baking powder
  • 400 gm mushrooms (finely chopped)
  • 100 gm processed cheese (grated)
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • pinch of red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp onion paste
  • 1 green chili paste
  • 1/4 cup refined oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Break all the eggs in wheat flour and add baking powder with a pinch of salt.
  2. Take lukewarm water and knead the flour into tight dough.
  3. Cover with wet muslin cloth and keep aside for half an hour.
  4. Take a flat nonstick pan and heat 4 tsp refined oil in it.
  5. Add garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  6. Add onion paste and stir fry till it turns light pink.
  7. Add finely chopped mushroom and season with nutmeg powder, black pepper powder, red chili powder, green chili paste and salt.
  8. Quickly saute for 2 to 3 minutes and bring down from the flame.
  9. Divide dough into 20 to 25 equal pieces and give them shape of tarts.
  10. Mix grated cheese in slightly sautéed mushroom.
  11. Stuff the cheesy mushroom in the tarts.
  12. Grease a baking tray and apply oil on the outer sides of each tart with a brush.
  13. Place all the tarts on a baking tray at equal distance.
  14. Bake in a preheated oven for about 12 minutes at 250 degrees.
  15. Serve hot with tangy mint sauce.
