Right before serving, they're topped with a chili oil sauce that's fiery and delicious at the same time. If you want to make a mild version of the same, replace chili oil with regular tomato sauce. Instead of using chicken mince, you can also use finely shredded or chopped chicken. Needless to say, dumplings taste best when they're served hot. Spicy chicken dumplings with chili oil

Try these spicy and scrumptious chicken dumplings stuffed with seasoned chicken mince with Chinese celery and drenched in hot chili oil for added flavor.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 40 minutes
Servings: 4

  • 16 to 20 wonton wrappers
  • 400 gm chicken mince
  • 100 gm Chinese celery (finely chopped)
  • 3 tsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • pinch of white pepper powder
  • 4 to 5 tsp chili oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 4 tsp olive oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Take a flat nonstick pan and heat 2 tsp olive oil in it.
  2. Add chicken stock and switch the flame to low.
  3. Add dark soy sauce, chili oil and a pinch of salt.
  4. Stir gently and simmer till chili oil sauce reduces to half. Keep aside.
  5. Take another flat pan and heat 2 tsp olive oil in it.
  6. Add chicken mince in it and saute for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Add celery, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper powder and salt.
  8. Saute for 3 to 4 minutes and keep aside.
  9. Stuff chicken mince in all the wonton wrappers and seal them properly.
  10. Place them in a bamboo steaming container and steam for about 20 minutes.
  11. Place in a serving plate and pour chili oil sauce on top. Serve immediately.
