Hot Buttered Walnuts and Banana with Caramel and Ice CreamThis fulfilling dessert is easy-to-make and requires fewer ingredients provided you have ice cream ready beforehand. Instead of taking ripe bananas, take bit raw slices else they may break during the preparation. Apart from walnuts, you can also add some other dry fruits in this dessert. While glazing banana slices in caramel, make sure you stir them gently to avoid breakage. Walnuts roast very quickly. While buttering them, roast slightly for a short period of time. If you want to increase the number of servings, you can add peaches in this dessert. Some like it hot while others prefer it refrigerated. Leftovers of this dessert can be blended into a smooth paste and can be served after freezing 3 hours.

Walnut and bananas with ice cream

Enjoy this unique combination of buttered walnuts topped with chilled vanilla ice cream and loads of bananas slices drenched in delicious caramel sauce.

Servings: 5

  • 250 gm walnuts (slightly crushed)
  • 12 bananas (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup caramel
  • 100 gm unsalted butter
  • few scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 50 gm powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp green cardamom powder
  • 4 tsp brown sugar
  • pinch of salt


  1. Take a large, flat and nonstick pan and heat butter in it.
  2. Lower the flame and add banana slices with walnuts.
  3. Roast for about 2 minutes and add cinnamon powder.
  4. Again roast for about a minute and switch off the flame.
  5. Take a separate pan and add caramel in it on a low flame.
  6. Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, green cardamom powder, brown sugar and a pinch of salt in it.
  7. Stir continuously and simmer for about 3 minutes.
  8. Add roasted walnuts and banana slices in it and simmer for about 6 to 8 minutes.
  9. Place a generous helping of walnuts and bananas in the serving plate.
  10. Top it with ice cream scoop and serve immediately.
