Fulfilling chicken in pita bread

Try this flavorful, spicy and fulfilling recipe which includes seasoned boneless chicken chunks cooked to perfection and stuffed within fresh pita bread.

Servings: 4

  • 2 large pita breads
  • 800 gm boneless chicken (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • pinch of black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp oregano (finely powdered)
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds powder
  • coriander, coconut rice and tomato slices (for garnishing)
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Take a small bowl and add garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper powder, oregano powder, mustard seeds powder, cumin seeds powder and 4 tsp olive oil in it.
  2. Mix all the spices with a spoon for about a minute.
  3. Take chicken pieces in a large bowl and pour spicy seasoning prepared in the 1st and 2nd step.
  4. Add salt and apply the marinade well on all the pieces.
  5. Add generous amount of olive oil in a grill pan and heat for about 3 minutes.
  6. Carefully place all the marinated chicken pieces in the pan.
  7. Cook from all sides for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. Slit both pita breads from one side and arrange coconut rice, chopped coriander and tomato slices on one side.
  9. Top it with spicy grilled chicken pieces and serve immediately.
