Grilled Minced Lamb and Cheese RollsMinced lamb can be made in several ways and one of the easiest ways to consume it is to use it as a stuffing for patties and rolls. Today's rolls are easy-to-make and are perfect for breakfast and tea time. Vegetarians can use cottage cheese or sweet potatoes to replace the lamb mince. I've made it quite spicy but depending on your taste, you can reduce the number of peppers used in this recipe. To get the best results, the dough for these rolls should be made exactly as given in the preparation steps. You can also make pizza with this topping and dough base provided you add some more colorful vegetables. Leftovers of these tasty rolls can be drenched in a vegetarian stew and can be served after a boil. Let's do it!

Cheesy minced lamb rolls

Try these scrumptious minced lamb rolls which also include fresh cheese and cabbage making it a fulfilling entry for breakfast as well as for the tea time.

Servings: 6

  • 400 gm minced lamb meat
  • 1/2 cup processed cheese (grated)
  • 400 gm wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup semolina
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tsp unsalted butter
  • 2 red chilies (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (coarsely ground)
  • 1 tsp mustard paste
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup cabbage (finely chopped)
  • 1 tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds powder
  • 6 to 8 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Sift wheat flour and semolina in a large flat tray.
  2. Add egg yolks, unsalted butter and a pinch of salt in it.
  3. Slowly add lukewarm water and make tight dough.
  4. Cover with wet muslin cloth and keep aside for half an hour.
  5. Heat 4 tsp olive oil in a large flat pan and add ginger garlic paste in it.
  6. Saute for about 1 minute and add chopped tomatoes and onion.
  7. Stir fry on a medium flame for about 3 minutes and add minced lamb meat.
  8. Switch the flame to low and season the minced meat with mustard paste, black pepper, chopped red chilies, fennel seeds powder and salt.
  9. Mix all the ingredients well with a spatula and add quarter cup of water.
  10. Simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes with a covered lid till all the water dries up.
  11. Make flat and round tortillas from the dough base.
  12. Add a handful of minced lamb meat in between and top it with grated cheese and chopped cabbage.
  13. Roll it and make slight cuts across the roll.
  14. Take a grill pan and sprinkle generous amount of olive oil in it.
  15. Grill all the rolls till they turn crispy and brown.
  16. Cut them in your desired shape and serve immediately with a bowl of sauce.
