Crispy Beef Meatballs with Green Cheese LoafEarlier I made beef kebabs which were spicy and vanished from the plates within minutes. This recipe is made from minced beef and is equally aromatic. I've used the combination of cornstarch and chickpea flour for crispiness as well as for binding the meatballs firmly. Although I've used spinach to cover the cheese loaf, you can use any green leafy alternative available in your area. Use a local cheese that doesn't melt easily. You must serve it hot with meatballs to get the best results. You can also serve a tangy and spicy dip with this recipe to further enrich and enhance this preparation. Remember to use fat-free minced beef for this recipe else meatballs may break while deep frying on a high flame.

Cheesy deep fried meatballs

If you love deep fried meatballs, do make this delicious recipe which includes crisply fried beef meatballs served with fried spinach coated cheese loaf.

  • 500 gm minced beef
  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 250 gm spinach
  • 1 cup cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 onions (finely chopped)
  • 3 to 4 green chilies (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder (coarsely ground)
  • pinch of paprika
  • 1/4 cup tomato puree
  • oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste


  1. Wash minced beef thoroughly 2 to 3 times and drain all the water.
  2. Take a large bowl and add minced beef in it.
  3. Add chickpea flour, cornstarch, ginger garlic paste, chopped onions, paprika, green chilies, tomato puree, 2 tsp oil and salt in it.
  4. Mix all the ingredients with hands for about 3 to 4 minutes and keep aside.
  5. Blanch spinach leaves and blend them into a coarsely grounded paste.
  6. Season it with black pepper powder and salt. Keep aside.
  7. Heat 4 to 5 cups of oil in a deep frying pan.
  8. Make small meatballs from the seasoned and minced beef.
  9. Fry them on a medium flame till they turn golden brown.
  10. Grate cheese and make a round loaf from hands.
  11. Apply a layer of seasoned spinach around it.
  12. Shallow fry in a pan for just one minute.
  13. Place meatballs in a plate and serve with green cheese loaf.
