Fritters made with seafood are not only delicious but nutritious as well. These fritters are dead simple and you can prepare them in a quick time. To get the best results, fry them on a medium flame. If you're making them quite spicy, a dip or sauce can be omitted while serving. The consistency of batter also plays a vital role in how crisp the fritters will be. It's a perfect starter for a cocktail party. Do not hesitate in adding local dried herbs and flavoring agents to enhance the taste. I've used tentacles though you can go ahead with rings too. The same flavoring ingredients can be used to make fried chicken wings too. So, here we go to make these crisp, fulfilling and delicious squid fritters in a few easy steps.

Relish these crisp, spicy, and flavorful squid fritters one can quickly make in a few easy steps with select ingredients to liven up the hungry taste buds.

Servings: 4

Ingredients:
  • 500 gm baby squid tentacles (cleaned & washed)
  • 2/3 cup cornflour
  • 1 tsp potato starch
  • 1/3 tsp garlic powder
  • pinch of ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1 medium-sized egg
  • peanut oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Take a large bowl and add all the ingredients in it except squid and peanut oil.
  2. Add enough water and whip to make a smooth batter base.
  3. Add squid and mix well.
  4. Heat peanut oil in a frying pan on a medium flame.
  5. Fry in batches till the fritters turn golden brown.
  6. Serve hot.
