Let's make a unique bean curd preparation which can be relished anytime of the day. Apart from making tofu strips, the recipe itself can be prepared in quick time. Although, the fried version is comparatively much easier to make, I prefer to cook the regular version which requires a little care to avoid breaking of strips. Refrigerate strips for a while before tossing in the wok. Needless to say, addition of local seasonal veggies can liven up this recipe. Excessive tossing and stirring the strips can ruin the entire preparation. As always, you are free to moderate the spice as per your taste. To make a slightly different version, add flavored yogurt in it. Get ready to quickly make this delicious tofu strips recipe.

Relish this simple, fulfilling and delicious tofu strips recipe which is flavored with mild seasoning agents and is prepared in quick time on a high flame.

Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:
  • 750 gm tofu brick
  • 3 tsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp oyster sauce
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • few drops of sesame oil
  • pinch of white pepper powder
  • 1 red chili (chopped)
  • fresh basil leaves (chopped)
  • 2 tsp peanut oil
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Refrigerate tofu brick in a freezer for an hour.
  2. Thereafter, cut tofu strips with a sharp knife.
  3. Again, refrigerate tofu strips for an hour.
  4. Heat peanut oil in a wok on a high flame.
  5. Stir fry chopped red chili for half a minute.
  6. Add tofu strips and season with light soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic powder, sesame oil, white pepper powder and salt.
  7. Gently toss and saute for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  8. Finally, add chopped basil leaves and once toss again.
  9. Serve hot with salad and a glass of beverage.
