I've given twist to the classic spaghetti preparation making it a complete meal with some delicious additions. We all know how good mussels and clams for our immune system and metabolism are. This recipe is a wholesome meal that can give you energy for the whole day. You can also add shrimps or prawns in this tangy preparation with some added flavoring agents. Do not hesitate to add some seasonal veggies as well. You can sprinkle grated cheese and chili flakes on top right before serving it. Make sure you wash clams and mussels well under running water before using in the recipe. So let's get started and quickly make this nutritious and tasty preparation for our beloved family members.

Mussels with delicious and spicy spaghetti

Do once try this easy-to-make and delicious spaghetti recipe which is cooked with tasty and nutritious mussels and is flavored with tangy and spicy ingredients.

Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking time: 35 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:
  • 200 gm spaghetti
  • 15 to 20 mussels
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 tsp red chili paste
  • 1/4 tsp tamarind paste
  • fresh ground pepper (for seasoning)
  • 1/2 cup red, yellow and green bell peppers (chopped in strips)
  • 3 to 4 tsp white wine
  • few drops of sesame oil
  • 2 tsp sunflower oil
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Add pinch of salt in 1000 ml of water and bring it to a boil.
  2. Add mussels in it and simmer till all of them pop and open.
  3. Drain all the water and keep the mussels aside.
  4. Boil spaghetti in water on a medium flame for about 6 minutes.
  5. Drain all the water and keep boiled spaghetti aside.
  6. Heat sunflower oil in a large wok.
  7. Add tomato puree with red chili paste and simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes stirring gently.
  8. Add mussels with bell pepper strips and season with ground pepper and salt.
  9. Toss for a minute and add tamarind paste, white wine and sesame oil.
  10. Saute for 2 to 3 minutes and finally add spaghetti.
  11. Again toss and saute for about 3 minutes on a high flame.
  12. Serve hot with your favorite beverage.
