This unique pizza not only looks amazing but tastes great as well. You can either use ready made smoked salmon or can prepare one at home. Needless to say, the latter version will definitely add the required punch in the pizza. Fresh home grown spinach and that too small leaves are ideal for such recipes. Use fresh dried herbs to season this pizza and avoid too much oil or cheese. Some people do not like the flavor of salmon. In that case, you can use tuna or swordfish. This pizza tastes great when it's served at room temperature. If you cannot resist, you can add some veggies like broccoli in this pizza. Nutritious spinach and salmon pizza

Enjoy this unique and protein packed pizza recipe made with a delicious topping of slow smoked salmon slices and fresh spinach leaves for an amazing flavor.

Preparation Time: 1 hour 20 minutes
Cooking time: 2 hours 8 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:
  • 1-1/2 cups all purpose wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp yeast
  • 1 big salmon fillet (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • small bunch of fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 tsp dried herbs (coarsely ground)
  • 1/2 cup processed cheese (grated)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • pinch of white pepper powder
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp unsalted butter
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Apply olive oil, salt and maple syrup on salmon slices and keep it overnight covered with aluminum foil.
  2. Prepare a smoker at high temperature (about 100 degrees) and place salmon slices on the top smoker grill.
  3. Smoke for at least 2 hours and keep the salmon slices side.
  4. Add yeast and a pinch of salt in the flour and sift for a minute.
  5. Add lukewarm water and knead into pizza dough. Keep it aside for at least one hour.
  6. Grease pizza baking tray with very less amount of unsalted butter.
  7. Roll the pizza dough in the baking tray.
  8. First of all, make a layer of grated process cheese on the base.
  9. Arrange smoked salmon slices and spinach leaves on top of it.
  10. Season with dried herbs, garlic powder, white pepper powder and a pinch of salt.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 220 degrees for about 8 minutes.
  12. Serve with mint dip and strong coffee.
