This is yet another fried chicken recipe, but with a difference. The accompanying radish sauce perfectly complements the crispy, spicy and juicy chicken pieces. This is a variant of the original recipe and can be further changed by making slight changes in the ingredients. For best results, remove of the outer yellow skin of the chicken so that seasoning can go deep inside the meat. And use peanut or canola oil to get the desired crispy texture. Instead of serving it hot, let the fried chicken come down to room temperature. Instead of mayonnaise, you can definitely use a replacement like flavored sour cream. Crisp fried chicken with radish sauce

Try this crisp fried chicken which includes a delicious coating for added flavor and a serving of lip smacking radish sauce which enhances the overall flavor.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Servings: 5

Ingredients:
  • 800 gm boneless chicken pieces
  • 1/2 cup potato starch
  • 2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 5 to 6 garlic cloves (finely minced)
  • 1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp oregano powder
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil
  • few scoops of fresh mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup radish pulp
  • pinch of paprika
  • few drops of malt vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • green onion leaves (finely chopped)
  • canola oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Take a nonstick fry pan and add radish pulp in it.
  2. Slowly simmer it for about 5 minutes stirring gently.
  3. Add paprika, malt vinegar, onion powder and salt in it.
  4. Simmer for another 5 minutes and bring down from the flame. Keep the sauce aside.
  5. Take a bowl and add potato starch in it.
  6. Season with dark soy sauce, minced garlic, ground pepper, oregano, sesame oil and salt.
  7. Add half or 3/4th cup of water and blend all the ingredients into a thick batter.
  8. Add all the chicken pieces in the batter and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  9. Heat canola oil in a deep frying pan keeping the flame to medium.
  10. Fry all the chicken pieces coated with batter till they turn nice golden brown and crispy.
  11. Pour radish sauce in the serving plate and top it with fried chicken pieces.
  12. Garnish with green onion leaves and a scoop of mayonnaise and serve hot.
