Prawns are one of the common edible items used in Thai cooking. Generally, I make them in spicy gravy so that they can be consumed both with bread and rice. Today's prawn recipe contains loads of whole chilies and will give both sweet and spicy flavor on your taste buds. Depending on your taste, you can give emphasis to one of the flavors. Use fresh prawns and cook on a high flame for best results. If you want a slightly different flavor, you can also add black or white sesame seeds in this preparation. To increase the number of servings, you can also add calamari in it. Since this recipe is quite spicy, you can moderate the quantity of spices as per your requirements. Let's make it right NOW!

Sweet and sour Thai chili prawns

Do make these spicy and sweet stir fried Thai prawns recipe which is made with green beans and flavorful sweet chili sauce for getting an amazing flavor.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Servings: 5

Ingredients:
  • 400 gm fresh prawns (deveined)
  • 50 gm Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 6 garlic cloves (finely minced)
  • 1/4 cup Thai green beans (chopped and parboiled)
  • 1 medium sized tomato (sliced)
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp lime juice
  • 2 drops of sesame oil
  • 2 Thai green chilies (slit into halves)
  • coriander leaves (for garnish)
  • 2 tsp peanut oil
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. While cooking this recipe, use a traditional Chinese wok and prepare it on a high flame.
  2. Heat peanut oil in a wok for a minute.
  3. Add garlic and toss for half a minute.
  4. Add prawns with Thai sweet chili sauce.
  5. Saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Season with light soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil, Thai green chilies and a pinch of salt.
  7. Toss and saute for a minute.
  8. Finally add green beans and tomato slices.
  9. Toss for 2 minutes and switch of the flame.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
