If you've already tried regular mashed potatoes recipe before, you can make this one quite easily. To get the best results, use fresh yield potatoes instead of frozen ones. I always advice to experiment with recipes and this preparation is ideal to do that. Instead of leek, try combination of spinach and parsley. This recipe is ideal both for breakfast and lunch. I've used Parmesan cheese in this recipe which can be easily replaced with a local substitute. While making this recipe, make sure boiled potatoes are moisture free. Baked mashed potatoes with fresh leek

Do try this unique and flavorful mashed potatoes recipe which is made with generous amount of cheese mixed with fresh leek to get an awesome and unique flavor.

Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Servings: 5

Ingredients:
  • 500 gm potatoes (boiled)
  • 200 gm leek (chopped)
  • 200 gm Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried herbs (powdered)
  • pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Mash all the potatoes in a bowl with a wooden spatula.
  2. Add milk, melted unsalted butter, white pepper powder, dried herbs and a pinch of salt in it.
  3. Whip and blend all the ingredients to form a smooth texture. Keep aside.
  4. Take a microwave proof baking dish and place the entire whipped and seasoned mashed potato base in it.
  5. Sprinkle chopped leek on top of mashed potatoes.
  6. Finally grate Parmesan cheese above it.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 8 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with chilled beverage.
