My kids are less likely to eat recipes made from bottle gourd, pumpkin or zucchini. But this one is my kids' favorite which they love to eat during tea time. Baking delicious bread loafs is a fine art and is mastered with time. The delicate balance of flavoring ingredients is the secret to making a unique bread recipe. Combination of pumpkin and honey is quite unique and once you've bended them with perfect balance, the result is above excellent. You can't keep this bread for long time as pumpkin granules release moisture if kept for long time. To make it colorful, you can add some dried cherry slices in it. Pungent and soft pumpkin bread with honey

Do make this simple, aromatic and unique flavored bread recipe which includes honey as well as ripe pumpkin for a truly outstanding taste and texture.

Preparation Time: 50 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Servings: 10

Ingredients:
  • 5 cups all purpose wheat flour
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • pinch of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup wheat bran
  • 200 gm pumpkin (peeled and mashed)
  • 50 gm honey
  • 1 tsp clarified butter
  • pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Take a nonstick pan and heat clarified butter in it.
  2. Add mashed pumpkin in the pan and switch the flame to low.
  3. Gently stir for about 6 to 8 minutes till the moisture vanishes from the pumpkin base. Keep aside.
  4. Take a flat plate and add flour and bran in it.
  5. Sift it for a minute and add yeast, baking powder, honey and a pinch of salt in it.
  6. Mix all the ingredients with hands and finally add pumpkin base.
  7. Carefully add small amount of lukewarm water and knead the flour base into a nice bread dough.
  8. Keep aside for half an hour.
  9. Lightly grease a baking tray with clarified butter.
  10. Give a proper shape to the dough base and carefully place in the center of the tray.
  11. Optionally, you can grease the top of the dough with clarified butter.
  12. Bake in preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes.
  13. Slice into half inch slices when the bread is at room temperature.
  14. Serve with tea or coffee.
