Quite similar to this recipe, you can experiment with the ingredients and can come up with your very own and unique bread recipe. To get the best results, make sure you slightly grill or roast the beetroots before adding in the bread dough. This ensures that extra moisture is removed from the beetroots. You must consume this bread within 48 hours. The proportion of garlic used in this bread should be right else it will overtake the original flavor. Delicious beetroot bread

Do make this delicious and colorful bread which has a unique combination of two different flavors which are blended delicately for a unique bread serving.

Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Servings: 10

Ingredients:
  • 5 cups all purpose wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp yeast or an emulsifying agent
  • 300 gm beetroot (coarsely grated)
  • 8 to 10 garlic cloves (mashed)
  • 1 tsp sugar (powdered)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3 tsp refined oil
  • pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Heat 1 tsp refined oil in a nonstick pan on a low flame.
  2. Roast grated beetroot for about 4 to 5 minutes. Keep aside.
  3. Take wheat flour in a large and flat plate.
  4. Add yeast, mashed garlic cloves, sugar, 2 tsp refined oil and salt in it.
  5. Sift for about 2 minutes and add buttermilk in it
  6. Take lukewarm water and gradually add it in the flour.
  7. Knead the flour into soft dough.
  8. Add roasted beetroot granules in it and once knead again for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  9. Keep the dough aside for half an hour.
  10. Grease a baking tray with butter or oil and place the dough carefully in your desired shape.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 15 minutes.
  12. Slice and serve during the tea time or breakfast.
