Green tea is one such herb that can be used to add flavor, color and aroma to the fresh homemade bread. Use powdered form of green tea to get the best results. You can keep this bread for up to one week. You can also add some shredded cashew nuts to add some more nutritional value to the recipe. As soon as it comes out of the oven, slice entire loaf into desired shape with a bread knife. You can use its toasted pieces for the soup garnish too. Flavorful green tea bread

Do try this unique bread recipe which includes green tea leaves and butter giving it an unique and delicious flavor you’ll love every time during breakfast.

Preparation Time: 50 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Servings: 10

Ingredients:
  • 5 cups all purpose wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup wheat bran
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 50 gm dried green tea leaves (powdered)
  • 1 tsp sugar (powdered)
  • 2 tsp unsalted butter
  • few drops of green tea essence (optional)
  • 1 tsp refined oil
  • pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Sift wheat bran and wheat flour in a flat tray to evenly mix both the ingredients.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients in the flour and sift again for a minute.
  3. Take lukewarm water and knead the flour mixture into soft dough.
  4. Cover with muslin cloth and keep aside for half an hour.
  5. Very lightly grease a baking tray.
  6. Arrange the dough in your desired shape on the baking tray.
  7. Heat oven at 250 degrees.
  8. Bake the bread for about 14 minutes.
  9. Slice the bread into slices.
  10. Serve in breakfast with pickles and butter.
