This is one of the healthiest breakfasts I'd prefer to eat every morning. Steamed prawns retain most of their nutrients. It's not necessary to include the exact list of vegetables used in this recipe. You can use the local seasonal vegetables to give it your preferred flavor and color. If you want to spice it up a bit, add some chili flakes with a dash of light soy sauce. Instead of stir frying, you can also grill the vegetables on a charcoal grill. In that case, prawns can be grilled as well with a mild and tangy marinade. You can refrigerate this preparation for up to one day and can also add it to a stew. Delicious prawns with veggies

Do try this sweet and sour preparation consisting of steamed vegetables and pawns flavored with mild ingredients which gives it a subtle and sweet flavor.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Servings: 5

Ingredients:
  • 400 gm prawns
  • 200 gm green beans (blanched)
  • 250 gm broccoli (steamed)
  • 250 gm mushrooms (chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper powder
  • few drops of apple vinegar
  • pinch of black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp fresh cream
  • 3 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Take a bowl and add prawns in it.
  2. Add honey, fresh cream and salt in the bowl and apply all the ingredients on prawns.
  3. Let the prawns in the marinade for at least 5 minutes.
  4. Prepare a steamer and put all the prawns in a steaming container.
  5. Steam all the prawns for 15 minutes and keep aside.
  6. Check with a toothpick if prawns are steamed well or not.
  7. Heat olive oil in a large flat pan.
  8. Switch the flame to medium and add green beans, broccoli and mushrooms in it.
  9. Toss for about half a minute.
  10. Season it with white pepper powder, apple vinegar, black pepper powder and salt.
  11. Add steamed prawns too and stir fry for about 4 to 5 minutes.
  12. Serve hot with rice and stew.
