My favorite Farfalle can be made in so different ways. I always include tomatoes in my every pasta dish to ensure the presence of an authentic flavor. This one also contains generous amount of basil and green onions. One of the secrets of making good pasta is to ensure that it's neither too hard nor too squishy. We're only going to use the bottom tuberous part of green onions for this pasta. You can also use a combination of finely chopped basil and mint to give it a slightly different flavor. Addition of bell peppers and cabbage is also recommended in case you want to add more fiber to the dish. I generally prefer Parmesan cheese for all of my pasta recipes, but you may change or omit it as per your taste.

Flavorful Farfalle pasta platter

Enjoy this delicious platter of Farfalle pasta recipe consisting of fresh herbs and seasoned green onions which makes it a complete meal for your breakfast.

Cooking time: 25 minutes
Servings: 5

Ingredients:
  • 3 cups Farfalle pasta
  • 1 cup blanched tomatoes
  • small bunch of fresh basil leaves
  • 3 to 4 green onions
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • pinch of red chili flakes
  • pinch of white pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 3 tsp olive oil
  • pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Wash pasta thoroughly under running water.
  2. Add 1 tsp olive oil and pinch of salt to 2 liters of water and bring to boil.
  3. Add pasta and stir on a low flame for about 3 minutes.
  4. Drain all the water and keep aside.
  5. Chop basil leaves and keep aside.
  6. Finely chop the bottom tuberous part of the green onions and keep aside.
  7. Heat 2 tsp oil in a large wok.
  8. Add blanched tomatoes with white pepper powder and a pinch of salt.
  9. Saute for about 2 minutes on a high flame.
  10. Add pasta, chili flakes and oregano.
  11. Stir fry for about one more minute.
  12. Add shredded Parmesan cheese, chopped basil leaves and green onions.
  13. Switch off the flame and stir for about 2 more minutes.
  14. Serve hot with bread and chips.
