Sandwiches are one of the most common breakfast items consumed in almost every part of the world. Today's yummy sandwich contains soft bread with seasoned boneless duck breast and generous amounts of lettuce and mayonnaise. If duck meat is not available in your locality, you can replace it with chicken breast. Although I've kept this sandwich quite simple, you can use mustard and ketchup to spice it up with a more colorful look. You can easily refrigerate these sandwiches for up to 2 or 3 days. You can also add some sliced onions and tomatoes reducing the amount of lettuce I've used in these sandwiches. These sandwiches go well with hot coffee or a chilled glass of fruit juice. So here we go...

Irresistible roast duck sandwich

Make your breakfast merrier with these roast duck fillets sandwich which also includes fresh lettuce leaves and loads of creamy and delicious mayonnaise.

Cooking time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients:
  • 5 to 6 duck breasts
  • 6 to 8 pairs of sandwich bread
  • bunch of lettuce (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (coarsely ground)
  • 1/4 tsp malt vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp dried herbs
  • pinch of red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 5 tsp olive oil
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Wash the duck breast and cut into 4" pieces.
  2. Take a small bowl and add cornstarch, black pepper, malt vinegar, dried herbs, red chili powder, garlic paste and salt in it.
  3. Mix the seasoning well and apply on the duck pieces.
  4. Heat 4 to 5 tsp olive oil in a shallow frying pan.
  5. Roast the duck pieces from both sides till they become golden brown.
  6. Apply mayonnaise on the inner side of sandwich bread.
  7. Place lettuce leaves on top and reapply mayonnaise.
  8. Top with roasted and seasoned duck pieces.
  9. Use toothpick the hold the sandwich together.
  10. Serve hot with coffee or a glass full of juice.
