Stuffed vegetables are always a delight. Sometimes we use quite rich stuffing and sometimes a toned down simple stuffing. Ladyfingers are consumed in almost every part of the world. Today we are going to prepare stuffed ladyfingers. The stuffing is very simple and does not require much ingredients, yet the dish tastes great. You can either use whole ladyfingers slit in halves or can cut them into two or more pieces. Make sure you do not change the primary ingredients to ensure you can relish the authentic taste. Do not forget to use lime juice to remove the stickiness of ladyfinger. So let's get started and make this mouth-watering preparation for our loved ones and family members.

Tangy stuffed ladyfinger

Make this delicious and tangy ladyfinger preparation that is stuffed with select spices to make a flavorful main course recipe that can be enjoyed with bread.

Servings: 4

  • 500 gm ladyfinger (okra)
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 1 big tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds (roasted)
  • 1/4 tbsp carom seeds (crushed)
  • 1/2 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/3 tsp red chilli powder
  • 3 tsp vegetable oil
  • salt to taste


1. Slit ladyfingers from between and wash thoroughly.
2. Blend garlic, onion, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds and carom seeds to a fine paste.
3. Stiff them well in slit fingers.
4. Heat oil in a pan and crackle carom and fennel seeds for 1/2 a minute.
5. Add tomato and salt and cook till tomatoes are tender.
6. Add stuffed ladyfingers and cover the lid. Cook on light flame for 5 minutes.
7. Add lime juice and simmer for 2 more minutes.
8. Serve hot with rice or bread.
